The National Weather Service is postponing the Statewide tornado drill for Missouri until Thursday, March 6th at 1:30 PM.

Two reasons led to the postponement. Many emergency management directors reported to the National Weather Service office at Pleasant Hill that the sirens in their communities won't sound when temperatures are below freezing.
Warmer temperatures are forecast on Thursday.

The other reason is that the FCC has not given a waiver on the Missouri side to allow for the severe weather test of emergency alert systems despite the Missouri Broadcasters' Association filing paperwork about a month ago. To be fair to the FCC, the request does take time. Washington DC government offices are closed due to inclement weather today, so the odds were very small getting in touch with the appropriate people at the FCC.
