A Brookfield woman was injured late yesterday afternoon in an two-truck accident just west of Hannibal in northeast Missouri. The highway patrol said 36 year old Stephanie Morris received moderate injuries. She was a passenger in a truck driven by her nephew, 19 year old Steven Ruby of Hannibal who sustained minor injuries. Both persons were taken by ambulance to the Hannibal Regional Medical Center.

The report noted neither injured person was using a safety device.

The driver of the tractor trailer was 47 year old Everett West of Ferguson, Kentucky. Authorities said the big rig was southbound when it slid on ice past a stop sign and into the path of the eastbound truck. Ruby's truck was demolished.

The tractor trailer received minor damage.

Yesterday afternoon, a Cameron man received moderate injuries in an accident three miles north of Cameron. 23 year old Jacob Still received what the highway patrol called moderate injuries. He was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The patrol said Still was southbound when he lost control of his car on the snow-covered DeKalb county Route Double-E. The car skidded sideways across the center line. Authorities said the driver then over-corrected causing the car to cross back over the center line before going off the west side of the road where it struck an embankment and came to a stop in a ditch. The car was demolished. The report noted Jacob Still was not using a seat belt.
