|Five persons were at the Grundy County Courthouse this morning by 8 o'clock to file for 5 different offices for this year's elections. One current office holder does not plan to seek re-election.|
Three incumbents filed this morning in an effort to keep their positions.
They are Presiding Commissioner, Rick Hull, of 2201 Mariner Road; County Clerk Betty Spickard of 405 Ridgeway; and Associate Circuit Court Judge Steve Hudson of 146 South Highway 65. Also filing this morning was Tammy Hanes of 370 Southwest 20th Street for Circuit Clerk and Ex Officio Recorder, as well as Carrie Lamm-Clark of 1919 Savage for Prosecuting Attorney. Each of the 5 filed on the Republican party ticket subject to the August primary.
Upon arriving for work this morning, Charlene Arnold told KTTN she plans to retire at the end of her term December 31st. Mrs. Arnold is in her 8th year as Grundy County Circuit Clerk and Ex Officio Recorder. She said she's worked full time in that office, including serving as a Deputy Clerk, from October of 1988.
The other office holder whose position is on the ballot is that of current Grundy County Prosecuting Attorney, Christine Stallings. She was appointed to the position last year by the Governor and expressed, at that time, her intentions to seek election in this year's voting.
