The patrol said the operator of the horse drawn wagon, 37 year old John Troyer of Jamesport, was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital at Trenton with moderate injuries.

The driver of the pickup, 37 year old Robert Skipper of Chillicothe, also was taken to Wright Memorial. Skipper's injuries were listed as minor.

The accident occurred Saturday night 4 miles east of Jamesport on Route F. Both Troyer and Skipper were eastbound. Skipper did not see the unlighted horse drawn wagon in time, attempted to swerve to avoid a collision, but the pickup hit the left rear quarter of the wagon. The pickup slid off the road, coming to rest on its wheels. The wagon overturned, throwing Troyer out.

Damage was listed as extensive to the pickup and moderate to the wagon. The patrol said Skipper was wearing a seatbelt. Troyer was not required to have a seatbelt.
