The Trenton Board of Public Works, at its January 29th meeting, approved the use of Certificates of Participation to finance the costs of projects in the Wastewater and Electric Departments. The action requires City Council approval.

The Wastewater Department projects include construction, furnishing, and equipment for a disinfection system and other equipment at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, plus collection improvements in the sewer system.

The Electric Department work involves upgrades to diesel powered generators to comply with federal air quality regulations.

Also on the Trenton City Council agenda is an ordinance authorizing a lease agreement for Andy Kidd of Trenton to cash rent about 87 acres of row crop land at the north edge of Trenton. The City Council, last month, accepted a bid from Kidd to rent the land for $157 an acre.

The Trenton Council is to consider a clarification to the City's Traffic Code regarding parking restrictions for vehicles over 24,000 lbs. and trailers. It prohibits them from being parked on public streets more than 6 hours, except when loading or unloading is taking place.

Other topics before the Trenton City Council are safety concerns for the front entryway of City Hall, and appointments to the Police Personnel and Building and Nuisance Boards.

Trenton City Council meetings also include various reports from Councilmen, City Administration, and the Mayor. Time also is made available for public comments.

The Trenton City Council meeting is tonight at 7 o'clock at Trenton City Hall.
