NCMC Splits At Rival Penn Valley

The North Central Missouri College women's basketball team improved to 3-1 in Region 16 play on Monday night, winning at Penn Valley Community College 81-58 in action heard on Hot Country Z 101.7.

North Central's overall record, with the win, improves to 9-12. The loss drops the Scouts to 1-13 overall, and 0-4 in Region XVI competition.

Brooke Parton led the Lady Pirates with 24 points, while Kayla Oetterer had 21, Nancy Berwanger 14, and Samone Redditt 12 points. For Penn Valley, Danielle Robertson had 19 points, Octavia Allen 12, and Cieara Carter 10.

The men's game went the way of the Scouts by a final score of 109-77. Penn Valley ran away from North Central in the second half, outscoring the Pirates 61-35 over the final 20 minutes.

Terry Moore led Penn Valley with 28 points, with Julius McCoy and Tyron Daniel both scoring 14, Brandon Shively 11, and Maurice Mason 10.

Penn Valley's record is now 13-6 overall, and 2-1 in Region XVI play, while NCMC drops to 10-10 overall, and 0-3 in Region XVI.

Tuesday night's scheduled home game for the NCMC men was postponed. Wednesday night's scheduled doubleheader against the visiting Culver-Stockton JV squads (women and men) has been moved to THURSDAY night at 5:30 and 7:30 at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton.
