Princeton Tigers Upset East Harrison In Gilman City Final

The Princeton boys received a balanced scoring effort on Saturday afternoon, in defeating the East Harrison Bobcats, 57-51 in the championship game of the Gilman City Basketball Tournament.

The Tigers trailed by one point (45-44) heading into the final quarter, but a 13-6 advantage for the second-seed over the final eight minutes brought the title to PHS. Princeton outscored East Harrison in the second half, 29-19.

Justin Hamilton had a fantastic championship game, with 16 points for Princeton, while Brant Faulkner had 14. For East Harrison, Ben Rinehart had 21 points and Matthew Craig 20.

The girls championship went to the top-seeded Pattonsburg Lady Panthers, 52-42 over North Harrison. The North Harrison boys fell in the third place game to Union Star, 54-48. Friday night's scheduled games from Gilman City (consolation finals and girls third place game) were not played due to weather and travel concerns. The games will NOT be made up.
