KC Royals Acquire Mariners Outfielder

The Kansas City Royals, on Wednesday afternoon, acquired Seattle outfielder Carlos Peguero in exchange for a player to be named or cash considerations.

In a corresponding roster move, left-handed pitcher Everett Teaford was designated for assignment.

The 26-year old Peguero has spent part of the three seasons in the Major Leagues with Seattle. In 2013, he played in two April games, going 2-for-6 with a home run and an RBI. In the Pacific Coast League (with Tacoma), he ranked seventh with 19 home runs. He had a .260 average, with 28 doubles and 83 RBI's. He is a career .195 hitter at the major league level, with nine homers and 27 RBI's in 219 plate appearances between 2011-2013.

The 29-year old Teaford made one appearance for Kansas City in 2013, throwing 2/3 of an inning at Cleveland on July 14th.
