Both officers had numerous years of experience and service with the City. The Police Chief Rick Knouse will now have the task of reorganizing the entire department. The City has lost several officers in the last 12 months and is currently seeking new applicants for Patrol Officer positions.

City Administrator Ike Holland will review and report back to the Council, the recommendations of Chief Knouse and when the new structure should go into effect. Chillicothe Police Department has an excellent reputation and plans are to build on this during this transition period.

In 2013, the department took over the 911 Dispatch System from the County and has provided a more streamlined process for service calls and customer service.
