Trenton Bulldogs Split Third Place Games At Lawson

The Lady Bulldogs rebounded from Thursday night's semifinal loss to North Platte with a hard-fought 36-32 win over Lawson. Cassidy Cotton had a big game for Trenton, with 19 points (and a trio of three-pointers). McKinley Hurley and Madi Trump both had seven points. Trenton's best quarter was the THIRD, when the Lady Bulldogs outscored Lawson by a 13-0 score, but THS had to hold off a furious Lawson rally in the fourth quarter, with the Lady Bulldogs outscored 15-6. Keely Simmons led Lawson with 13 points.
The Gallatin Lady Bulldogs won the consolation final over Richmond, 52-49, with Kaitlyn Hefley scoring 16 points and Sara Lin 11 for Gallatin. The Gallatin boys won the consolation hardware over North Platte by a score of 57-52. Chris Cameron scored 15 points, Harris Cameron 14, Jacob Boyd 12, and Grant Simmons 11 points for Gallatin. Levi Stillwell paced the Panthers with 22 points.
The Trenton boys, on Saturday night, lost to the Richmond Spartans in the third place game at Lawson, 60-44. The Bulldogs had no answers for Richmond senior forward Reid Summers, who sizzled the nets to the tune of 37 points. Chris Flowers led Trenton with 19 points, with Chase Tolson adding 10.
The West Platte boys beat Lawson in the tournament title game, 62-57. Adam Roe had 28 points, Bryce Cashman 17, and Colton Goodlet 14 for the Blue Jays. Garrett Titus had 17 points, Cole Shobe 13, and Spencer Wood 10 for the Cardinals.
The North Platte girls downed Hamilton in the title game, 61-48. Chelsi Sams paced the Lady Panthers attack with 18 points, with Maddie Roberts scoring 14, Erin Manville 13, and Courtney Kipping 10 points. Morgan Prather led the Penney girls with 14 points.
Trenton heads into the week with home games with arch-rival Chillicothe on Tuesday night. Both the girls game at 6 o'clock and the boys game at 7:30 will be broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com.
