Involved were vehicles operated by Gregory Misel of Polo and Edward Harrison of Cameron—both 43 years of age. The highway patrol described injuries as minor for Misel and moderate for Harrison. The report noted Misel was treated at the scene while Harrison was taken by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The two cars were northbound on Interstate 35 with Misel merging from the shoulder to the driving lane. The report noted Harrison changed from the driving to the passing lane, lost control, with his car skidding to the right and striking the front of Misel's vehicle. Both cars left the roadway with the one driven by Misel striking an embankment but remaining upright. Harrison's car struck an embankment, overturned one time and came to a stop on its passenger side. Both cars were demolished in the 6:30 accident last evening. Both drivers were using seat belts.
