Friday Afternoon Accident Injures Two

Two Cameron residents were hurt early Friday afternoon east of Cameron when a pickup truck slid off Old Highway 36 and overturned down an embankment.

The driver, 29-year old Heather Bailey, and a passenger, four-year old Michael Bailey, were taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with what the Highway Patrol called minor injuries. The accident was nearly two miles east of Cameron on Old Highway 36. The westbound pickup was climbing a hill when the vehicle slid on icy pavement, went off the left side of the road, and came to rest on its top. The truck was extensively damaged. Both people were wearing seat belts.
