|The ninth annual High School Holiday Hoops tips off Friday night with the first two games of a 62-game schedule. |
The Albany Warriors will meet the Mound City Panthers in both girls and boys action at the Ketcham Community Center on the NCMC campus. Games are scheduled for 6 and 7:30 pm.
In addition to the ball games with teams from northwest Missouri, special entertainment will be a part of the opening night activities. The North Mercer Glimmer Girls under the direction of Angie Couchman will perform at the half-time of both games with holiday dances. The first four participants in the “Shoot Sixty Seconds for Your School” will also compete at half-times as representatives of the Albany and Mound City schools competing for a $500 cash prize offered by American Family Insurance.
Play resumes on Saturday night with three more games on tap as the Trenton squads take on the Lathrop Mules’ and the Penney High of Hamilton Lady Hornets battle the Salisbury Lady Panthers. Games begin at 5:00 on Saturday with the Hamilton-Salisbury match-up followed by the Trenton-Lathrop girls at 6:30 and their counterparts facing off at 8:00. The Trenton-Lathrop games will both be broadcast on Z 101.7 FM and www.kgozfm.com!
