The one-sentence ruling from Special Judge Daren Adkins stated that W-C-A's motion for a temporary restraining order is OVERRULED. In effect, that means the city of Trenton will proceed with the Council-approved change to Rapid Removal Disposal for residential trash collection effective presumably in January. An ordinance, accepting the Rapid Removal contract for a five year period, is expected to be on the agenda for the Monday night meeting of the Trenton City Council.

Last Friday afternoon, Judge Adkins conducted a court hearing via a video conference regarding the request from Waste Corporation for a temporary restraining order and / or preliminary injunction against the city of Trenton. Attorneys representing the city of Trenton and Waste Corporation were in the courtroom Friday and presented their arguments. Judge Adkins then took the matter under advisement until he sent his ruling this morning to Division One of the Grundy County Circuit Court.
