|Milan High School's Holden Stallbaumer sizzled the nets at Schuyler County for 35 points on Tuesday night, leading the Wildcats to a 63-54 victory over the Rams, the second victory in a row for Milan, evening their record at 2-2.|
Stallbaumer hit 22-of-24 free throws for the Wildcats, and added 12 rebounds and seven steals in the winning effort. Sophomore guard Raul Palacios added 17 points. For Schuyler County, Lane Gray had 17 points and nine rebounds. Daniel Haley had nine points with Justin Seaton adding eight.
The Lady 'Cats struggled in their Tri-Rivers Conference opener, falling to the Lady Rams by a final score of 62-29. Laynee Schubert led three Schuyler County girls in double figures with 20 points (Summer Small had 11 and Caley Sessions 10). The loss drops Milan's season record to 1-3. The Lady 'Cats have lost three games in a row.
The conference schedule continues for both schools on Friday night, with Schuyler County making the short trip to Edina to play the Knox County Eagles. In Milan, the Wildcat teams will host the Scotland County Tigers in doubleheader action. The girls game at 6 o'clock, and the boy's game at 7:30, will both be broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com.
