Princeton Boys Beat King City, 42-36, Improve To 2-0

The Princeton Tigers, in the quarterfinals of the Albany Tournament on Tuesday night, rode the strong one-two combination of Brant Faulkner and Stephan Elliott to a 42-36 win over the King City Wildkats, in action broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com.

Faulkner scored 16 points and Elliott 14 for Princeton, as the Tigers advanced into a Thursday night semifinal with the top-seeded Stanberry Bulldogs. After a season-opening win against North Harrison, the Tigers have started the campaign at 2-0. King City, in the loss, was led by senior center John Spiking with 14 points.

The Princeton Lady Tigers fell to 0-2 on the season, falling to Stanberry by a final score of 40-32. Madesen Gage led the victorious Lady Bulldogs with 15 points, while Paige Phillips put home 15 points for Princeton.

Princeton did rebound on Wednesday night, picking up their first victory of the season, 40-32 over Albany. Paige Phillips led the Lady Tigers with 19 points. Princeton advances into the girl's consolation final on Friday night to play the Worth County Lady Tigers.

Also from Albany High School on Tuesday night, the King City girls rolled to a 66-42 victory over Worth County. The Albany boys, in pool play, knocked off the Polo Panthers. However, that score is not available.
