Maysville Rallies Past Gilman City At Gallatin Tournament

|Down 15-8 after one quarter, the Maysville Lady Wolverines outscored upset-minded Gilman City in each of the last three quarters on Monday night, rallying for a 60-48 victory in the quarterfinal round of the Gallatin Basketball Tournament.|
Danielle Boucher led Maysville's offensive attack with 21 points, with Kristen Strong adding 12 points, and Hannah McPike 10 to the winning cause. Gilman City, now 1-1 on the season, had 18 points from Mikayla Toombs and 11 from Morgan Reed. Coach Jacob Shipman blamed "turnovers and missed free throws" for the Ladyhawks defeat.
Also advancing in the girl's bracket on Monday night were the Lady Bobcats of Braymer High School, who beat Winston, 56-41. Sadie Watson scored 25 points to lead Braymer. Kaitlyn Barnes had 14 points for Winston.
The Maysville girls will play in the Gallatin Tournament semifinals on Thursday afternoon at 4:30 (against either Gallatin or Newtown-Harris), while the Gilman City girls play on Wednesday night at 7 o'clock in the consolation semifinals. The Braymer girls will ready for a likely matchup with the top-seeded Trenton Lady Bulldogs on Thursday night at 7 o'clock in the semifinals. The Winston girls will play at 4:30 Wednesday afternoon in the consolation semifinal round.
Tuesday night's girls quarterfinals from Gallatin High School will be: #1 Trenton vs. #8 Tri-County (Jamesport) at 4:30, with #2 Gallatin playing #7 Newtown-Harris at 7 o'clock.
