Trenton Cinema Owners To Build Theater At Excelsior Springs

A Trenton business couple, Jim and Maggie Bush, have announced plans to construct a movie theater at Excelsior Springs.

The owners of Trenton Cinema, and, Maggie's Mess Bookstore, Mr. and Mrs. Bush, said plans have been made to build a movie theater offering SIX screens. It’s to be considered the “anchor” building for a new shopping mall in Excelsior Springs.

They noted having a second movie theater offers an increased opportunity to rent “first run” movies for both Trenton and Excelsior Springs locations.

Bush said construction is planned along a busy highway that reportedly has 30 thousand vehicles per day passing the planned theater.

While papers have not yet been signed regarding the financing, Mr. and Mrs. Bush told KTTN they are committed to the movie theater project at Excelsior Springs. Construction there is expected to begin next year.

Also during the interview today, Mrs. Bush indicated plans are being develop to expand the lobby of the Trenton Cinema to include a box office for tickets that is separate from the concession stand. Trenton Cinema will continue to have three movie screens.
