Elderly Purdin Woman Injured In Highway 5 Crash

A woman from Purdin was injured on Tuesday afternoon when, according to the Highway patrol, her car struck a slow-moving Missouri Department of Transportation dump truck in a "moving work zone" on Highway 5 in Linn County.

The accident happened two miles north of Linneus. The Patrol said 87-year old Lois Purdin received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield. Her northbound car was demolished while the truck received moderate damage.

The operator of the truck, 48-year old Tommy Brumbaugh of Brookfield, escaped injury. Both people were wearing seat belts.
