Candidates can file during normal school hours beginning December 17th and concluding January 21st. Three persons are to be elected for terms of three years each. With terms expiring next April are Larry Cook, Dennis McDonald, and Abe Carver.

For the Thanksgiving holiday break, classes will be dismissed early on November 26th. Dismissal times that day are 11:30 at the high school in Galt and 11:40 at the elementary building in Humphreys.

The board of education, at its meeting last week, voted to advertise to hire a part-time custodian to work a few hours in the evenings at the Galt building. Board members heard a review of options regarding efforts to improve the connectivity to the Internet and a faster speed of the service to the elementary building in Humphreys.

Approval was given to the complaint resolution process for the education of homeless children and youth. The guidance counselor was appointed as coordinator for the homeless, migrant, and English language learners.

It was noted 43 students had perfect attendance for the first quarter at the Grundy R-5 schools.

A closed session was held for a student matter with no announcement made.
