The Trenton City Council Administrative Committee has forwarded to the full City Council discussion their suggestions on replacing electric heaters with natural gas units in the bay area of the Fire and Ambulance Complex.

The complex currently is all electric, so a gas line would need to be run to the building.

Two of the electric units in the bay area are not working. City Clerk, Cindy Simpson, said the replacement cost for each of the two non-working units would be $2,000 if electric units are installed and $319 for gas. Mrs. Simpson said the higher cost for the electric heaters are attributed to 3 phase wiring. She said the Administrative Committee's recommendation is to eventually replace all of the electric heaters in the bay area with gas units.
