Trenton School District Vies For Grant; Vote Via Internet

The Trenton school district is encouraging patrons to vote via the internet for R-9 to possibly receive a large grant from Stanley Security.

The company provides products and related services to help secure students and facilities so that personnel can focus of education.

Grant funds are awarded to schools receiving the most votes on the Stanley Security web site:

Voting online is allowed November 5th through December 13th.

The promotion is called “Together for Safer Schools.” According to director of curriculum at Trenton R-9, Barb Cox, the top grantis worth 200 thousand dollars. Three runnersup, she said, could win 100 thousand dollars. Mrs. Cox said the winning schools use the grant money to purchase additional Stanley Security products and services.

Information from the company points out concerns have dramatically increased regarding school security in the wake of educational facilities across the country being targets of crime and violence.
