A Missouri State Highway Patrol helicopter had an engine failure during a training flight Saturday afternoon near Jefferson City.

The patrol reported an emergency landing was made in a field.

The pilot, Michael Hargus of Jefferson City, was not reported hurt. The patrol said an occupant, Jeff Noak of Jefferson City did not seek medical attention for minor injuries.

Damage to the helicopter was listed as extensive.
