City Sales Tax Receipts Up During First Half Of Year

City sales tax receipts at Trenton for general purposes and capital projects are up about 1.8% during the first half of this fiscal year. That's compared to the same period last year, May through October.

City sales tax receipts for parks are up nearly 1% during the same period.

The general purposes tax has produced more than $375,000.

The capital projects tax has generated nearly $188,000.

The parks tax has produced nearly $175,000.

The general purposes tax is 1%, while the other taxes are 1/2% percent.

Income from the capital projects tax is greater than the parks revenue primarily because of parks tax cannot be charged on domestic utilities.
