Despite playing on their home field, Maysville lost the coin toss to Jefferson, meaning the Wolverines were the "visiting" team in the game. However, that worked well for MHS, with Jade Hahn hitting an RBI double (her first of four hits on the day) and Bailey Frasher an RBI single in the top of the first inning. Kristen Strong walloped a solo homer in the third inning, and Maysville put the game away with four runs in the top of the seventh.

The run support was plenty for Katie Applegarth, who shutout the Eagles on just five hits. The win moves Maysville into the state semifinals on Friday against New Franklin, in Springfield. New Franklin advanced with a 9-7 win over St. Elizabeth, improving their record to 22-7. Maysville is 17-6.
