|The Missouri Day Festival car show in Trenton had 109 cars and trucks plus a dozen motorcycles. |
Best of show award to Gary Alexander of Jamesport with a 1965 Chevy Nova.The “hard luck” trophy went to Mickey Ralls of Trenton with his “rat rod.” The promoters’ pick was Sam Caselman of Trenton with a 1969 Torino G-T.
Barnes-Baker Best G-M Trophy went to Bill Pemberton of Independence with a Hurst Oldsmobile and Barnes Baker Best Ford trophy went to Al Enfield of North Bend, Nebraska—near Omaha—with a 1949 Mercury. Both men also received 25 dollars cash for their winning entries.
First and second place winners were recognized in many categories.
Those claiming first place include Nick Gass, Dave Jennings, Steve Gondringer, Aric Helmandollar, Cody Burchett, and Phil Daniels—all of Trenton.
Others in first place of the car show were Norman Youngman of Jamesport, Stan Lazenby of Carrollton, Beverly McClain of Kirksville, Bill Stage of LaPlata, Bill Pemberton of Independence, Ron Scott of Harris, Dave Lewis of Union Star, Gerald Herman of Bates City, Bill Lawson as well as John and Diane Yaw from Des Moines, and Al Enfield of North Bend, Nebraska.
