Trenton Volleyball Teams Suffer Tuesday Night Sweeps

The Trenton varsity, junior varsity, and middle school volleyball teams all suffered straight set losses on Tuesday night, with Bishop LeBlond downing THS, with TMS going down to defeat at Chillicothe.

LeBlond beat the Trenton varsity team 25-16, 25-11. For the Lady Bulldogs, Lyric Nolan had one ace, Alex Ewald nine digs and four assists, Sarah Walker and Bekah Wiggins both had a block, while Lakisha Hughs and Bekah Wiggins both had three kills. LeBlond's stat line included Marliss Zwaschka with 10 kills, Carly Thrasher with a block, Emily Madden 15 assists, and Shelby Herner with 10 digs. LeBlond, with the road win, improves to 24-3-3 on the season.

The Bishop LeBlond JV beat Trenton in straight sets. Scoring was not available.

The Trenton Middle School 'A' team was defeated at Chillicothe by scores of 25-20, 25-9. The TMS 'B" team lost 25-3, 25-7 to the host Lady Hornets. They were the final matches of the fall season for TMS. Head Coach Amanda Pickett said, "Even though we did not win our last game, these girls have come a long way throughout the season. They are a great group of girls and really hard workers. I look forward to seeing each and every one of the players continue to improve and prepare for the 2014 season."

Trenton High School's volleyball teams finish the regular season on Tuesday, October 22nd at Savannah. The Lady Bulldog varsity will then begin preparations for district play at Higginsville.

Chillicothe's Lady Hornets beat Hamilton 25-17, 25-5. Lexi Snyder had 10 kills and 2 blocks, Erin Gilliland and Sara Frampton contributed 3 digs each, Hannah Jones had 8 assists and Maggie Graves 7 service points.
