The Grundy county emergency management agency, along with the city of Trenton, regional and state partners, will be testing emergency plans Thursday morning at Trenton.

The exercise will focus on a simulated fuel truck spill at the airport allowing emergency responders to test various aspects of emergency response. During the exercise, city and county agencies will be getting assistance from northwest Missouri's homeland security response team and the state emergency management agency.

Emergency Management Director Glen Briggs said persons at Trenton should not be alarmed by the vehicles and equipment responding to the “staged emergency” Thursday.

The exercise will also prompt the first use of the newly re-designed Grundy
county emergency operations center co-located with the Trenton fire department.
