Friday Morning Accident Injures Brunswick Teen

A 16-year old Brunswick girls suffered injuries described as MODERATE by the Highway Patrol in an accident just past 7 o'clock on Friday morning, one mile east of Brunswick on Lewis & Clark Road.

Samantha Simmons, according to reports, went off the left side of the road and overturned, while traveling eastbound. She was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by Staff of Life. Assistance was provided at the scene by the Chariton County Sheriff's Department, Brunswick First Responders, Chariton County Ambulance, and the Missouri Highway Patrol. Miss Simmons was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Her truck (1999 GMC Jimmy) was demolished.
