Bluegrass Festival Set For October 24 - 26

The Bluegrass Music Association of Iowa will be hosting the 4th Annual BMAI Honey Creek Resort Bluegrass Festival on October 24 - 26, 2013. The event will be held at the beautiful Honey Creek Resort on Lake Rathbun near Moravia, Iowa.

Eight bands will perform this weekend beginning with a gospel show on Thursday October 24that 7:30 pm. National Touring acts, Nu-Blu from North Carolina, and 2012 IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year Nominee Darrell Webb Band from East Tennessee will be headlining the event with appearances on Friday and Saturday.

Workshops will also be offered Friday afternoon for beginners-advanced musicians, as well as a FREE concert open to the public at 3:30 PM. The Friday evening show will kick off at 6:30 PM with an Open Stage for those wanting to showcase their group or artist abilities. Followed by performances by Missouri groups Highway 32, The Harper Family,and Iowa based band, Bluegrass Addiction.

The event will have raffle drawings, silent auctions, and vendors to add to the excitement of the venue.Saturday morning there will be a guitar workshop and an informational session regarding BMAI and Bluegrass in Iowa. In addition, Saturday evening BMAI will be presenting an Iowa youth with a banjo from the Play It Forward! program.

Tickets for the show are: 3 day VIP Premium seating $50, 3 Day General Admission $40. 2 Day VIP Premium seating $45, 2 Day General Admission $35. Thursday Only $10, Friday Only $20, Saturday All Day Only $25, Saturday Evening Only after 6PM $20. Youth 7-16 are half-price, 6 and under are Free.

Honey Creek Resort is located 4 miles West of Moravia and Highway 5 on County Road J18.
