Mo. State Fair Queen To Appear In Mo. Day Parade

Promoting agriculture is the theme of the upcoming Missouri Day Festival Parade and doing her part by being attendance is the 2013 Missouri State Fair Queen and several area fair and festival queens.

Ashley Bauer is the reigning Missouri State Fair Queen and she will among the special guests participating in the October 19th parade. A sophomore at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, Miss Bauer is pursuing a double major in Business Administration and Equine General Studies with a concentration in Equine Assisted Therapies.

A native of Warrenton, Missouri, Ashley is the daughter of Todd and Susanne Bauer. A 2012 graduate of Warrenton High School, Miss Bauer graduated in the top five percent of her graduating class. At William Woods, she is a member of Alpha Phi and is on the executive board of her sorority and the representative to the Panhellenic Council. She is also a member of the President’s Twenty, a university organization where she serves as the direct ambassador between the student body and the University President. She also participates on the Horse Judging Team and is a University Ambassador.

Following graduation, Miss Bauer plans to open her own Therapeutic Horsemanship Facility where she will provide human to horse interaction therapy options for individuals with special needs, mental disorders, and disabilities.

Miss Bauer represented the Warren County Fair in last summer’s Missouri State Fair Queen contest and was chosen over sixty-three contestants for the 2013 title. As the Missouri State Fair Queen, Ashley will travel the state promoting agriculture, tourism and rural living as well as the importance of the Missouri State Fair.

Also scheduled to participate in the Saturday morning parade at this time are queens from the North Central Missouri Fair, the Livingston County Fair, the Sullivan County Fair, the Carroll County Fair, Miss Calamity Jane, Miss Old Settlers, the Northwest Missouri State University Farm Bureau Queen and Homecoming Queens from Trenton, Chillicothe, Milan and Princeton.
