October 05 a deputy investigated a report of illegal burning in the north east part of Livingston County. The deputy found a resident allegedly burning roofing shingles. The owner extinguished the fire and reportedly did not understand it is a potential legal violation to burn asphalt shingles. A report was completed for the state.
October 04 Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis, School Administrative Officials, and others quickly acted on a written bomb threat message on a bathroom wall. It was almost immediately determined it was the same juvenile that reported this message as who allegedly authored the message. The student allegedly wanted to get out of additional academic work the next hour. Parent(s), Juvenile Officer, Law Enforcement, and School Officials all worked together in properly handling this matter. There was never any danger to anyone.
Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report with our office regarding an investigation of theft from a student’s personal bag at the Chillicothe Middle School, on or about September 30. The incident report shows there is video which helps identify 3 juvenile suspects allegedly involved in the theft. Juvenile authorities and parent(s) were contacted and all 3 suspects were interviewed. Stolen was a bag of rubber bands, $40 dollars, and a red draw string bag. Reports are being submitted to the Juvenile Office for consideration. School Officials are handling administrative action.
Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis began an investigation at the Chillicothe High School where a juvenile student reported the theft of $80 cash from his/her locker. Further investigation and a cooperative parent show the alleged victim did not have $80 to be stolen. The information has been shared with the juvenile officer.
On October 03 a deputy issued a speeding citation to a motorist on Highway 190 for alleged 67 in a 55.
