Trenton JV Football Struggles Against Lathrop, TMS Wins At Princeton

The Trenton JV Bulldogs found themselves on the short end of a 48-8 score on Monday night against the Lathrop Mules at C.F. Russell Stadium. The two teams were a more even match than the final score indicated, but turnovers and special team breakdowns hurt the Bulldogs.

Trent Head connected on six-of-seven extra points on the night for Lathrop, who opened up the scoring with 8:29 remaining in the first quarter on a 10 yard run by Cody Kistner. Kistner added a 94 yard scoring run in the second quarter, making the score 13-0. The floor dropped over the next three minutes for Trenton, with Lathrop scoring on a 14 yard punt block return, and a 24 yard pass.

The Mules scored three touchdowns in the second half. Trenton's only points came on a 1 yard touchdown run and extra point, both by Jonathan Lamp, with 3:19 remaining in the third quarter. The Trenton JV will look to regroup and get ready for the rival Brookfield Bulldogs, coming to C.F. Russell Stadium on Monday night, October 14th.

On Thursday night, the Trenton MIDDLE School football team rolled into Princeton and left with a 42-16 win over the Tigers. Kylen Wilkinson had a first quarter TD run for TMS, with Avery Cooksey scoring two second quarter touchdowns, Mason Owen connecting with Colten Colston on two first half scoring passes, and Chase Marsh going in for a third quarter score. Princeton had an 80 yard scoring pass in the third quarter, and 76 yard scoring run in the fourth quarter. The Tigers converted both of their two-point conversions, both by run.

TMS will look to attain a WINNING record for the first time this season, when they host the Milan Wildcats on Thursday, October 10th at 6 o'clock at C.F. Russell Stadium. TMS finishes its season on Tuesday, October 15th at Chillicothe.
