Area Firefighter Remembered In Maryland

|Firefighters from across the nation, whose deaths last year were attributed to their duties, were remembered last weekend at Emmitsburg,Maryland.|
The names of 81 firefighters, including 3 from Missouri, are to be added to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial-which includes a monument and plaques.
Missourians honored last weekend are Pattonsburg Fire and Rescue Chief Eddy Meador who died last December 8th. He became ill and died after responding to several emergencies earlier in the day.
Meador was 54. He had been in the fire service 35 years.
The other firefighters to be remembered at Emmitsburg, Maryland are Senior Firefighter/Paramedic Doug Hasse, Sr. of the St. Charles Fire Department, and Firefighter Jeffrey Hudson of the St. Louis Fire Department. Hasse was 60 and Hudson 46.
The names of Eddy Meador, Doug Hasse, Sr. and Jeffrey Hudson were added to the Missouri Firefighters Memorial at Kingdom City during a ceremony in may of this year.
