According to the attorney generals' office, an eye witness testified that Evans shot Wolf over methamphetamine that Evans paid for, but that Wolf did not provide.

Two other witnesses testified that Evans confessed to them that he killed Wolf. Wolf was last seen May 5th of 2011. His body was never found. Blood discovered in Evans’ kitchen was linked to Wolf, and a bullet reported by the eye witness was recovered from the kitchen ceiling.

The trial was held in Worth County on a change of venue from Gentry County. Assistant Attorneys General Tim Anderson and Lauren Barrett assisted Gentry County Prosecuting Attorney Jerry Biggs. Formal sentencing for Evans is scheduled for November 7th. The only possible sentence under Missouri law is life in prison without the possibility of probation or parole.
