Eight Injured In Three Separate Accidents

A Brookfield girl, 16 year old Tabitha Thomas, was hurt last night when her vehicle swerved to miss an animal and ran off Linn county Route J-J and overturned.
The highway patrol described injuries as moderate for Tabitha Thomas who was taken by ambulance to Pershing Memorial Hospital. Her northbound car was demolished in the accident west of Marceline. She was wearing a seat belt.
A Polo man, operating a motorcycle, was injured last evening in a rural Ray county accident that included being struck by a car.
The highway patrol described injuries as serious for 25 year old Elvis Meadows of Polo. He was taken by medical helicopter to Truman Medical Center.
The patrol said Meadows was southbound when he apparently lost control on a hillcrest causing his machine to turn onto its side. Meadows was partially ejected and then hit by a northbound car driven by 29 year old Chasity Dirck of Lawson. She wasn't hurt. Both drivers were using seat belts.
Six Carrollton residents, including three children, were injured early last evening
in Saline County when their southbound sport utility vehicle ran off Highway 65 twice and overturned. The SUV was demolished.
The highway patrol described injuries as serious for two passengers: 25 year old Kassondra Schnakenberg and 52 year old Chester Rice who went to University hospital in Columbia; moderate for the driver: 24 year old Kurtis Sims; and minor to three children who were in safety devices: Brock Sims, age 6; and Joccilynn and Selena Sims, age 3. All went to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
The accident report noted two of the persons were ejected but did not identify them.
