THS Girl's Golf Falls In Head-To-Head Duel At Richmond

Continuing their consistent theme of steady improvement through the 2013 golf season, the Trenton Lady Bulldogs lost by 11 strokes to Richmond in Tuesday afternoon action at the Shirkey Course in Richmond.

Medalist honors in the nine-hole, par-38 event went to Richmond's Paige Pierson, who shot 49 for the day. Trenton's Caitlin McNabb continued her superb play, shooting a 56 for the second-best score from the 11 players combined. Richmond's team total was 237, with Trenton at 248.

Other scores from Tuesday were:
Taylor Rittmiller and Shaina Pearson (both of Richmond) at 60, Sheridan Jamvold (Trenton) at 63, Kaitlyn Mounce (Trenton) at 64, Lauren Schmidt (Trenton) at 65, Abby Gonzalez and Jordain Oshel (both of Trenton) at 66, Emily Fitch (Richmond) at 67, Hunter Fickess (Richmond) at 68, and Kameron Carmichael (Richmond) at 71.

The Trenton girl's golfers participate in the Chillicothe Tournament at the Green Hills Golf Course throughout the day on Thursday, before finishing the regular season at the Kirksville Tournament, starting at 9 o'clock in the morning on Monday (September 30th).

Trenton Coach Jeremy Austin commented on Tuesday's meet, ""We did much better today than the last time we were in Richmond. I think we can still improve. Thursday will be a big test for us at the Chillicothe Tournament, which is the site for districts."
