Heritage Day At Jamesport September 28

“Lost Arts and Skills” will be demonstrated this Saturday (September 28th) when Heritage Day is held in Jamesport.

The event also includes live music and other entertainment.

The demonstrations are planned from 10 o'clock until 4 o'clock in downtown Jamesport. Among them are open fire cooking, muzzle loading guns, candle dipping, kettle corn, cigar box guitars, pottery making, spinning and weaving; rug hooking and quilting. Others are flint knapping, penny rugs, broom making, a scarecrow factory, tatting, free hot pad weaving, and friendship bracelets for kids (at Sue's Soft Stuff). Also featured is apple butter making (at Graber's Greenhouse)Missouri town dancers perform twice on Saturday: 10:30 a-m and 2 p-m.

There will be a salad luncheon from 11 to 2 o'clock at the methodist church.

A barbecue supper, sponsored by Jamesport Lions Club begins at 6:30 with musical entertainment at 7:30.

An Amish-style picnic lunch is planned (at Sherwood Crossing east of Jamesport on Route U.) Events throughout the day at Jamesport include carriage rides and children's train rides as well as ice cream.

Heritage Day activities this Saturday are sponsored by Jamesport Community Association.
