The Laredo Board approved investing some of the district's reserve funds at Putnam County State Bank and Carroll County Trust. The district can get a 2% interest rate for a 5 year Certificate of Deposit at Putnam County State Bank---which has a branch at Milan. The interest rate for a 6 month CD at the Carroll County Trust at Carrollton is 3/4 of a percent.

The Laredo Board of Education approved allowing younger students play on the school's 7th and 8th grade basketball teams so there will be enough players.

5th through 8th grade boys and 6th through 8th grade girls will be allowed to participate on the teams. As a result, 7 boys and 10 girls are to participate. Fox explained, had 5th grade girls been allowed on the 7th and 8th grade team, there would 15 participants---so it would be difficult to find playing time for that many.

The Laredo Board approved 3 field trips. 5th through 8th graders to the American Royal at Kansas City September 26th, 3rd and 4th graders to Old Time Harvest Days at Chillicothe September 27th, and Kindergarten through 2nd graders to the Pumpkin Patch near Chillicothe October 11th.

The Laredo Board approved district participation in the Backpack Buddies program again this year.

Surplus items from the Laredo district are to be listed on the Rafter C on-line auction site.
