Kansas City Royals reported on Wednesday that veteran announcer Fred White had passed away one day after announcing his retirement. He spent 40 years with the organization, most recently as director of broadcast services and the franchise's alumni. |

Andrew Berry, a 6’4” forward from Columbia-Hickman High School in Columbia, will play basketball at North Central Missouri College in Trenton this fall. He is the son of Linda Tackett of Columbia. |

The North Central Missouri College men’s basketball team has announced the signing of St. Louis area student/athlete Jory Woodson. Woodson signed a letter of intent at NCMC on April 10th. |

The North Central Missouri College baseball team is five games deep into their spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and, to this point, the Pirates are finding good success, winning three games and losing two. In all FIVE games, NCMC has out-hit it opponent, and both losses were only by one run, including a 13-inning defeat on Sunday. Head coach Donnie Hillerman says his team is 'playing solid baseball'. |

Playing their first two games of a spring break road trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the North Central Missouri College baseball team split a pair of hard-fought, low-scoring games over the weekend. The Pirates beat Salem Community College 3-1, but fell in a 13 inning marathon to Lakeland Comunity College, 4-3. |

Tyrell Thirkield, son of Denita Elmore of Higginsville, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Pirates at North Central Missouri College in Trenton next fall. He joins recruit Jory Woodson of the St. Louis area in the guard position. |

Anyone in the Trenton area interested in playing on a Trenton little league team in the Harrison County League, headquartered in Bethany, needs to sign up their children THIS WEEK. These teams will practice in Trenton with home games in Trenton. Sign-up sheets are available at area schools and at the Trenton Main Stop convenience store and may be returned to either location. The deadline is FRIDAY, March 15th, 2013. |
