Grundy County was notified today that two appeals on tax assessments have been made to the Missouri State Tax Commission. These involve the Trenton Senior Housing doing business as Adams Park Apartments and the J-B Wright Memorial Hospital—specifically the physicians' office building. |

Automobile Accidents : Cameron plane crash kills Lawson man

The name has been released regarding the victim in the crash last evening of a small plane at Cameron Memorial Airport. According to a news release late this morning, Cameron Police report 52-year old David King of Lawson was pronounced dead at the scene.

KTTN/KGOZ Sports : Mercer County Health Department to hold run/walk event next month in Princeton

The Mercer County Health Department will be sponsoring a five kilometer "fun run" and "walk" the night of Thursday, October 4th in Princeton. The breast cancer awareness event will feature participants carrying "glow sticks", with the event beginning at 7 o'clock on the night of October 4th at the Mercer County Health Department in Princeton. |

KTTN/KGOZ News : Missouri Day Festival donations continue to grow for October 20th events

Donations to the Missouri Day Festival Parade have now paid for more than 1,800 of the 3,500 flags that will be used to line the route and festival grounds on Saturday, October 20th. That announcement was recently made at a Trenton Rotary Club meeting. Donations can be made by contacting Steve Maxey or Rick Klinginsmith. |

KTTN/KGOZ News : Princeton and Trenton to host "Car Seat Checks" this week

Princeton and Trenton will be sites of "child car seat" safety checks this week. Checks will be done at the Mercer County Health Department in Princeton on Wednesday (by appointment). Child car-seat safety checks will be done in the parking lot of the ShopKo store in Trenton on the morning of Saturday, September 22nd between 9 and 11 o'clock. People wishing to have a safety check should show up during those times in Trenton. |

KTTN/KGOZ News : Self-Defense classes for females to be held in Livingston County

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department, in conjunction with a non-profit organization that teaches self-defense to girls and women, will be offering a self-defense course on Friday and Saturday, October 19th and 20th. It is for girls ages 12 and older and women of all ages, with the cost set at $25.00, and instruction to be from 6 PM to 9 PM on the 19th, and 8 to 5 o'clock on the 20th. |

A recycling trailer will be at the Spickard Fire Station today through the remainder of the month of September. Grundy County is scheduled to take the recycling trailer to Laredo on Monday, October 1st. People are being asked to follow the recycling instructions on the trailer. |

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs, participating in Saturday's Marshall Tennis Tournament, came home with one win and two losses, defeating Boonville 11-1 in the middle match of the day, but falling to Kirksville 9-3 (first match) and Marshall 12-0 (third match). |

The Higginsville Huskers returned the opening kickoff of Friday night's football game against the Trenton Bulldogs, and never slowed down from there, scoring 42 unanswered points in the first half on their way to a 42-14 win that improves the Huskers record to 4-0, and drops the Bulldogs to 2-2. |

The Tri-County School District of Jamesport has obtained 45 desk-top computers through a U.S.D.A. program. The free computers will be distributed throughout the district. The Tri-County Board of Education, last week, approved a change in the school calendar to reduce two days of classes from full to HALF days. |

A Ludlow resident was hurt early Thursday morning when the pickup truck she was driving traveled off a Livingston County road and hit a utility pole. Fifty-six year old Norma Wood of Ludlow was taken by private vehicle to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, with injuries described as MODERATE by the Highway Patrol. |

A 36-year old Dawn resident, David Hughes, was returned from Jackson County to Chillicothe last week (Wednesday) to face charges associated with gunshots being fired on Wednesday, September 5th in Dawn. Hughes is being held in the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $300,000 cash only bond. |

Automobile Accidents : Trenton woman injured in northern Grundy County accident

A Trenton woman was hurt when, according to the Highway Patrol, she attempted a left turn, and her car was hit by a sport utility vehicle attempting to pass. Thirty-one year old Emily Voorhies of Trenton was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital, with injuries described as minor. |
