Automobile Accidents : Weekend accidents injure Trenton and Richmond residents

A Trenton man, operating a motorcycle, was injured early Sunday evening when he was thrown off the machine while traveling in Spickard. Other weekend accidents included a two vehicle injury accident on Saturday in Trenton and a single vehicle wreck on Saturday evening east of Princeton.

During a reorganization of officers for the Seventh House District in the Republican Party, John Quinn of Chillicothe was chosen chairman, Nikki Norman of Wheeling as vice-chair, Becky McDonald of Galt as secretary, and Adam Warren of Chillicothe the treasurer. |

A new sally-port security door has been installed at the Livingston County Jail in Chillicothe. The previous door was broken on the night of July 4th in the escape of two inmates. Inspection indicated the old door was not repairable and, according to Sheriff Steve Cox, would not consistently "lock down". |

The University of Missouri's road to a championship in the "Battle 4 Atlantis" basketball tournament over Thanksgiving weekend will undoubtedly be very difficult. The Tigers will be joined by a handful of powerhouse programs, including Duke and Louisville, in the nationally televised event. |

Two Unionville residents have been arrested after a search of a home, near the Putnam County R-1 School buildings, led to the discovery of two methamphetamine labs, in addition to a handful of drugs, including meth, marijuana, and narcotic paraphernalia. Firearms and prescription pills were also found at the scene. |

KTTN/KGOZ News : U.S. 36 roadwork east of St. Joseph means smoother surface

Traffic on U.S. Highway 36 is no longer going head-to-head in Buchanan and DeKalb Counties, as of mid-afternoon Thursday. The Missouri Department of Transportation reports that this project is near completion. Westbound motorists will now experience a smoother five-mile section of Highway 36 in these two counties. |

Automobile Accidents : Four injured in Interstate 35 crash

Four members of a Minnesota family, including three children, received what the Highway Patrol called minor injuries in a single vehicle accident on Tuesday, three miles north of the Winston junction on Interstate 35. |

Opening day of school enrollments continue to be reported today (Wednesday) by several districts. Princeton reports 384 students, a drop by four when compared to 2011 Opening Day. Class size at Princeton ranges from 20 in third grade up to 41 in the sophomore class. There are 20 students in Princeton pre-school. |

Authorities in Cameron are waiting for autopsy results to learn the cause of death of a Cameron man and two of his children found Friday at the man's residence. Although an investigation is continuing, the deaths are believed to be accidental. A fire around a cook stove in the kitchen of the residence also was believed to be accidental, according to Cameron Police Public Affairs Officer Heath Henry. |

KTTN/KGOZ News : Kirksville plane crash injures Lee's Summit man

A small plane attempting to land at the Kirksville Regional Airport crashed on Monday afternoon, injuring the pilot, identified as a Lee's Summit man, Ted Bower. Bower, according to media reports, lost control of his plane in the process of landing, breaking the front landing gear. The plane skidded into a grassy area off the runway. |
