Automobile Accidents : Weekend accident injures young Gallatin man

A Gallatin resident was injured on Saturday night when the car he was driving went off Highway 13 north of Hamilton and overturned several times, throwing him from the vehicle. Nineteen year old Lance Rodkey was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center, with injuries that the Highway Patrol described as SERIOUS. |

The Daviess County Commission, on Monday morning, announced the lifting of the summer-long burn ban. Again, outdoor burning had been prohibited across Daviess County this summer due to the dry conditions. As of Monday morning, the Daviess County Commission has LIFTED the ban on outdoor burning. |

Grundy County was notified today that two appeals on tax assessments have been made to the Missouri State Tax Commission. These involve the Trenton Senior Housing doing business as Adams Park Apartments and the J-B Wright Memorial Hospital—specifically the physicians' office building. |

Automobile Accidents : Cameron plane crash kills Lawson man

The name has been released regarding the victim in the crash last evening of a small plane at Cameron Memorial Airport. According to a news release late this morning, Cameron Police report 52-year old David King of Lawson was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Linneus girl was hurt when a pickup truck driven by her father went off a road west of Brookfield, and into a ditch. Two year old Paityn Sparks was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, with injuries described as minor by the Highway Patrol. |

The Green Hills Telephone Company is warning its customers in the Wheeling, Avalon, Dawn, and Mooresville areas that they will be replacing EQUIPMENT tonight (Tuesday night). This work will take down LAND-LINE telephone service for about one hour, between 11 o'clock and 12 midnight. This will include 911 service. |

People can raise money for S.M. Rissler Elementary School in Trenton by test-driving a Chrysler Town and Country minivan Tuesday afternoon and evening. Barnes-Baker Motors in Trenton will supply the vehicles and volunteers to assist with the drives, with test drives to be taken from 3 to 7 o'clock this (Tuesday) afternoon in the Rissler parking lot. |

A recycling trailer will be at the Spickard Fire Station today through the remainder of the month of September. Grundy County is scheduled to take the recycling trailer to Laredo on Monday, October 1st. People are being asked to follow the recycling instructions on the trailer. |

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs, participating in Saturday's Marshall Tennis Tournament, came home with one win and two losses, defeating Boonville 11-1 in the middle match of the day, but falling to Kirksville 9-3 (first match) and Marshall 12-0 (third match). |

The Higginsville Huskers returned the opening kickoff of Friday night's football game against the Trenton Bulldogs, and never slowed down from there, scoring 42 unanswered points in the first half on their way to a 42-14 win that improves the Huskers record to 4-0, and drops the Bulldogs to 2-2. |

The Tri-County School District of Jamesport has obtained 45 desk-top computers through a U.S.D.A. program. The free computers will be distributed throughout the district. The Tri-County Board of Education, last week, approved a change in the school calendar to reduce two days of classes from full to HALF days. |
