The Trenton boys, for the second time this season, have a victory against the Putnam County Midgets, going to overtime on Friday night before pulling out a 63-55 victory in Unionville, improving the Bulldogs record to 14-9 on the season, and clinching the first winning season at THS for boy's basketball coach Jeremy Austin. |

A Holt resident received what the Highway Patrol called SERIOUS injuries when he fell from a four-wheeler and was run over by the machine. That happened after his pant leg was caught in a wheel and he was pulled off the machine. |

The Financial Aid Office at North Central Missouri College in Trenton will take part in FAFSA Frenzy, a nationwide event designed to help college students fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on Saturday, March 2.

A member of the Spickard Board of Aldermen has resigned. Nancy Anderson is leaving her seat on the town board. The mayor appointed, with city council consent, Janice Vandevender, to the position to fill the remainder of the term until the April alderman election at Spickard. |

Law enforcement officers in Cameron are looking for an individual suspected of robbing the Casey's General Store in northern Cameron just past 4:30 on Wednesday morning. The location is 405 West Grand Avenue. |

Four games into the Region 16 portion of their 2012-2013 schedule, the North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates were winless, with home defeats against St. Louis, Penn Valley, and Cottey, and a road loss at Penn Valley. That run of frustration ended for NCMC on Wednesday night, with the Lady Pirates taking a 76-64 win against visiting Wentworth Military Academy. |

Secretary of State Jason Kander has announced grants for libraries in Mercer and Livingston Counties. Each allocation is called an "eReader exploration grant". The Livingston County Library in Chillicothe was awarded $1,750 while the Mercer County Library of Princeton was allocated $966.00. |

Two Cameron residents were hurt when a small (Polaris) utility vehicle overturned in a pasture west of Polo. An occupant, 21-year old Taylor Arinze, was taken by private vehicle to Liberty Hospital with what the Highway Patrol called SERIOUS injuries. |

The Milan C-2 School District, in addition to Green City, Princeton, and Putnam County (Unionville) have announced plans to have buses travel on HARD-SURFACED roads only today (Friday). The alternative bus routes are being used because of the soft and muddy conditions prevailing on country roads across these districts. |

Automobile Accidents : Accident near Galt injures young Milan woman

A Milan resident was injured on Thursday morning near Galt when the car she was driving traveled off Highway 6 and hit a fence and tree. Nineteen-year old Arianna Diaz of Milan was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, with injuries described as SERIOUS by the Highway Patrol. |

Cainsville R-1 High School (in Harrison County) was honored on Monday by representatives of the Missouri Northwest Region Coalition for having the most-improved seat belt use in the 2012 Northwest Region's "Battle of the Belt" competition. |

The Princeton Lady Tigers are playing some of the best basketball of any team in the region, winning their fifth game in a row on Tuesday night, 61-31 over the visiting Albany Lady Warriors, in Grand River Conference action from Princeton broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com. The win improves Princeton's record to 12-10 on the season. |
