Plans have been announced for a medical expense benefit this Saturday evening in Wheeling. According to the publicity, Brandi Albertson Rodenberg was recently diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her lungs. She is facing a second surgery.
A single vehicle accident on Monday afternoon injured a Winston man. At a location five miles northwest of Gallatin, the Highway Patrol reported that a tanker truck driven by 39-year old John Finton of Winston traveled off Route DD while negotiating a curve.
A Jamesport resident was hurt when the car she was driving hit the rear of a tractor-trailer unit on Highway 36 west of Cameron. Fifty-nine year old Carolyn Huston of Jamesport was taken by private vehicle to Cameron Regional Medical Center, with injuries described as minor by the Highway Patrol.

The Trenton High School girl's and boy's track teams had an "up and down" day at Class 2, Section 4 competition on Saturday afternoon at St. Joseph Christian High School. The Lady Bulldogs advanced to state in seven events (including five first place finishes), while the Trenton boys advanced in five events (including four firsts).

A Winston man was injured on Wednesday evening in a traffic accident within his hometown. The Highway Patrol described injuries as SERIOUS for 62 year old Terry Caldwell. He was flown by medical helicopter to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.
The Statewide Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Missouri will include northern Missouri locations such as Trenton, Gallatin, Chillicothe, Cameron, and Brookfield early next week. Law Enforcement officers will be running the torch to raise awareness for Special Olympics Missouri and the 2012 State Summer Games.

The Lady Wildcats of Southwest High School earned 81 points on Saturday afternoon to claim the team championship at the Class 1, Section 3 event held at Marshall High School. The Concordia Orioles won the boy's event with 124 points, 27 more than the 97 put up by the runner-up Princeton Tigers. Trenton High School, competing in the District 16 INDIVIDUAL boy's tennis tournament on Friday at the Noyes Complex in St. Joseph, managed a third place singles finish from Isaiah Swann, while the doubles team of Nathanyl Bankson and Sam Muff settled for fourth place.
