A Chillicothe resident was injured early today when, according to the Highway Patrol, his car went out of control and off a rural Livingston county road.
Plans have been made for the Tractor Cruise scheduled as part of the activities for the Independence Day celebration next month in Princeton. Rhonda Watkins reported to the Princeton Chamber of Commerce that the group will leave Princeton at 1 o‘clock on Wednesday, July 4th and go to Lineville, before returning to eat at the Mercer County Courthouse.
Farmers Electric Cooperative General Manager Mike Sanders has told members of the cooperative it looks like a rate increase will be needed next year. Sanders indicated it would be later this year before the cooperative knows how much of a rate increase it will experience.
At Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge near Sumner, the JULY FIRST Friday event (on July 6th) has activities that begin at 5:00 PM and continue through the evening. The feature program will be "Mad Science" from Kansas City at 7:00 PM, which will feature explosions, bubbles, and other chemical reactions.

The Highway Patrol said two Pattonsburg residents were injured when the driver of a car fell asleep, and the car went off Interstate 35 and hit a tree stump north of the Winston exit.
An Albany resident was injured south of Kearney when the southbound car she was driving went off the left side of Interstate 35 and hit a cable barrier several times.

The Chillicothe Police Department says that four teenage boys have been arrested following a weekend "crime spree" that saw numerous motor vehicles being entered illegally. On Sunday morning, Chillicothe Police began to receive calls from citizens reporting vehicle break-in's on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan has announced that the Daviess County Library in Gallatin has received a Website Makeover Grant worth $4,707. The library will use grant money to completely overhaul its website, including the addition of a mobile site, to improve presence on the Web.
An Endangered Person Advisory remains in effect for a 50 year old rural Lathrop woman who has been missing since early Friday morning from her residence near the Caldwell and Clinton County line.
A man from Shawnee, Kansas was injured in Caldwell County when the westbound SUV he was driving was hit in the rear on Highway 36, crossed the median and the eastbound lanes, and overturned. Fifty-three year old Mark Specklin was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with injuries described as minor by the Highway Patrol.
There were 144 participants in the Gooseberry Festival's Five and Ten Kilometer run and walk on Saturday morning in Trenton. Roberto Garcia of Trenton was the overall winner in the 10K run with a time of 37:51. He competed in the men's ages 20 to 25 division.
The Grundy R-5 Board of Education has appointed Abe Carver of rural Humphreys to fill a vacancy on the school board, created by last month's resignation of Tim Schroeder, who is moving from the district. The board has also accepted the resignation of physical education teacher Mike Kaufman.

An engineering, design, and planning firm is recommending the fairgrounds grandstand in Trenton be closed to the public because of a number of safety concerns. The report from Olsson Associates of Kansas City says the structure should be closed until the conditions are corrected and the structure meets required standards.
