The Missouri State High School Activities Association has set a start time of 5 o'clock for Wednesday night's Class 3 state sectional softball game between District 15 champion Trenton and District 16 champion Benton at Heritage Park's Field #3 in St. Joseph.

Throughout the 2012 softball season, the young Princeton Lady Tigers would find a multitude of positive moments. There were victories at Gallatin and South Harrison that led to a 5-4 Grand River Conference record. However, Princeton's Achilles Heel was defense. When it was good, Princeton was good, and when it struggled, the Lady Tigers game would as well.

The Trenton Lady Bulldog golf team is STATE BOUND, shooting a 390 at the Green Hills Golf Course in Chillicothe on Monday, to become one of eight teams to advance to the Class 1 state tournament, and just two, along with runner-up Moberly, to head for state out of Section 3.

The Illini West Chargers came into last Friday's game against the Trenton Bulldogs with a high-powered offense, a 5-1 record, and sitting one win short of a guaranteed spot in the Illinois high school football playoffs. Carroll County Route C has been opened between County Roads 141 and 151, where bridge repairs were made this summer to girders. The Missouri Department of Transportation said the needed repairs were discovered during a routine bridge inspection earlier this year.

A man from Winston was injured early on Friday morning in a single vehicle accident that occurred one mile north of Cameron.

The Trenton Middle School Bulldogs lost on Thursday night by a score of 22-8 at Milan. TMS failed to put points on the board until very late, with Spencer Harris scoring on a four yard run with 15 seconds to go in the fourth quarter. Christian Alcaraz ran the ball in for the two point conversion.

On Saturday, October 13th the Meadville Sophomore Class will be sponsoring the Pumpkin Run 5K Run/Walk. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. at Strickler Park with the race beginning at 8 a.m.

The NCMC Lady Pirates played Sunday in Overland Park, Kansas in the Heartland Jamboree. North Central faced three NJCAA Division I opponents, losing two games but winning the third as the young ladies improved their level of play throughout the day.

State Representative Mike Lair of Chillicothe is among 15 education advocates nationwide that are being asked to advise the Romney-Ryan campaign on reform measures that would "put students first". Former U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige chairs the committee.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department says it is investigating two reports from the northwest part of the county where batteries were stolen from farm machinery and other heavy pieces of equipment. Sheriff Steve Cox said Livingston County Road and Bridge equipment was one of the machines hit by criminals.

A Distracted Driver Simulator will be available to the public tomorrow (Tuesday) at North Central Missouri College in Trenton. The "hands-on" activity is intended to demonstrate the effects of driving while intoxicated, and texting while driving.

The Gene Kauffman Scholarship Foundation has awarded $116,000 in scholarships this semester to 37 female graduates of Princeton and North Mercer High School. Fourteen of those recipients are students at North Central Missouri College in Trenton.

Just 48 hours after their Lady Bulldogs teammates won a TEAM district title, Trenton seniors Jessica Tracy and Jaci Tracy won an INDIVIDUAL doubles district championship on Thursday afternoon at Chillicothe.

In keeping with the theme of honoring our military veterans at this year’s Missouri Day Festival, a display will honor the fallen heroes from Missouri. “Remembering Our Fallen” will be located in the Trenton High School Commons from Wednesday evening, October 17th through Sunday, October 21st.

Wright Memorial Hospital Foundation is asking the citizens of Trenton to be aware of the runners and walkers Saturday morning in the southern part of Trenton as they take part in a 5 K and 10 K event known as “The Wright Run.”
