A man from Unionville was injured late Wednesday morning when an all-terrain vehicle he was operating overturned north of Unionville. Forty-one year old Derrek Gilworth was flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, with injuries described as SERIOUS by the Highway Patrol.

Conditions were sunny, warm and windy when the Five Points flagpole dedication was held late Monday morning in downtown Trenton. Toward the end of the thirty minute ceremony was the raising of a large U-S flag to the top of the pole.

Two all-terrain vehicles collided on Sunday afternoon eight miles west of Princeton, injuring three people. The Highway Patrol described injuries as SERIOUS for 22 year old Lacey Edwards of Hamilton, who was flown by medical helicopter to North Kansas City Hospital. She was a passenger on an ATV driven by 22 year old John Whitsell of Clarksdale.

The municipal swimming pool at PRINCETON will open for the season this coming Saturday, June 2nd. The facility will open to the public at 1 o'clock.

The fund raising goal is 30 thousand dollars for Saturday's Relay for Life events in Grundy County. It is the annual benefit for the American Cancer Society. Eleven (11) teams will be setting up outdoors on the Trenton High and Middle School campus. The theme this year is a “Rainbow of Hope.” The 12 hour event begins at 12 noon on Saturday.

Entries are being sought for a chili cook-off at Five Points in downtown Trenton. There is an "Elks Meet the Cooks" dinner on Friday night, June 8th at 6 o'clock.

A Brookfield man was injured when his motorcycle struck a deer and ran off the road late Monday afternoon on Linn County Route M.

The National Wild Turkey Federation sponsors its annual JAKES Day events starting at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Activities are designed for boys and girls age 5 to 15. For the Memorial Day morning runs to benefit the Fellowship of Christian athletes at CHILLICOTHE, there were 173 participants, establishing a new record over last year’s previous record of 123.

The Trenton Family Aquatic Center had 272 swimmers on Saturday's "Opening Day". Pool Manager Daniel Gott said it was one of the smoothest opening days in many years.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says three Richmond residents have been charged in connection with the death of 40-year old Michelle Rheuport of Richmond. She was found dead in her residence by a family member on Wednesday morning, May 23rd.

U.S. Rural Development says it has grants available to repair home of qualifying individuals. The repairs include (but are not limited to) repairing and replacing roofs, heating, air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing systems; water and waste disposal; windows; and insulation. Grants may also be used to make the dwelling accessible to a family member with disabilities.
