A Gallatin man, operating an A-T-V, was involved in a private property accident on Thursday night. The highway patrol described injuries as SERIOUS for 71 year old William Boyd. He was flown by medical helicopter to North Kansas City Hospital.

KTTN/KGOZ News : Authorities investigate into death of Wheeling man; Update: one person arrested

A Wheeling man died Wednesday morning in a private property accident in rural Livingston County. The highway patrol listed the victim as 33 year old Patrick Kinsella of Wheeling. The Livingston County Sheriff's Department reports that investigation has determined that in addition to the death, authorities are focusing on who might have been present at the time.

A Cameron resident, Troy Sloan, exhibited both the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion market lambs at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia. The Grand Champion crossbred lamb weighed 146 pounds, while the Reserve Champion lamb weighed 130 pounds.

A woman arrested in Milan for the death of her newborn infant in Minnesota, entered a guilty plea on Wednesday while in court in Gaylord, Minnesota. Sources say 29 year old Amy Romero entered a plea of guilty to charges of second-degree manslaughter for abandoning her newborn daughter and leaving her outdoors to die in the woods near her Minnesota home in 2001.

KTTN/KGOZ News : Senator McCaskill announces Lauren Gray can STAY in the U.S.A.

United States Senator Claire McCaskill, on Wednesday morning, announced that she has successfully worked with the Department of Homeland Security to obtain an exemption allowing Lauren Gray of Trenton to continue to legally stay in the U.S. and also to seek employment. Lauren will receive a two-year renewable deferral while she and her family continue to wait for Green Card Permanent residency in the U.S.

Two incumbents won re-nominations in contested races, two others lost Tuesday night as results filtered in from the Republican Primary election in Grundy County. The city of Trenton's sales tax issue lost by the narrowest of margins. It was a high voter turnout for a primary election – 46 percent.

KTTN/KGOZ News : Burn ban extended to the village of Jameson

The village of Jameson has been added to communities with bans on open burning. Spokesman Jared Hogan of the Jameson Fire Protection District noted the burn ban coincides with one issued by the Daviess County Commission for all areas of that county. It was issued because of the continued extremely dry ground conditions and lack of significant rain. The ban on outdoor burning at Jameson will be in effect until further notice.
