The precautionary boil water order at Gilman City was lifted on Monday morning. The notice had been issued last week following repairs made to a water line at Gilman City. Again, the precautionary boil water order at Gilman City is now over.

The Sullivan County Relay for Life raised nearly $13,000 for the American Cancer Society. The main activities for the 2012 event were held Saturday afternoon and evening on the Milan Square. Thirty-three cancer survivors participated in the opening lap.

Mayor Chuck Haney will be joined by guests Josh Norris of the Parks and Recreation Department and Barry Arthur of the Street Department, to discuss the progress of the new water park, along with current street work.

KTTN/KGOZ News : Rural Galt man charged with murder

A 34-year old rural Galt man, Patrick Courtney, has been charged in Grundy County with first degree murder in the death of 32-year old Christopher Molloy of Galt, by shooting him after deliberation. Courtney is being held in the Grundy County Detention Center without bond. He is to appear Tuesday in Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court.

The Highway Patrol described injuries as MODERATE for 64 year old William Rider and 67 year old Carolyn Rider (both of Humphreys), after a motorcycle crash on Wednesday evening. Both were taken by medical helicopter to Truman Medical Center.

Sheriff Rodney Herring said Grundy County received multiple 9-1-1 phone calls at 1 o'clock regarding a shooting at a home in Galt. Sheriff Herring identified the victim as 32 year old Christopher Molloy: a resident of the home at 200 North Main that he shared with 37 year old Stephanie Miller.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, a state trooper arrested 27-year old Machelle Dowell of Galt for the alleged possession of a controlled substance. Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cosa said the detention officer on duty summoned Chillicothe Police to assist at the scene to avoid any "gender issues".

The Grundy County Commission today accepted the low bid for a bridge replacement project east of Trenton. The work will be done by Decker Construction Services of Lathrop with a construction bid of 274 thousand ($274,108) dollars.
